Confirmation/First Holy Eucharist Preparation At St. John the Baptist Parish

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply to the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

CCC 1316

At St. John the Baptist Parish we understand that family life is busy and that many parents find it a challenge to juggle everything. We also know that being a Catholic is more than just filling a spot in the pew once a week.

Our preparation sessions take place once or twice a month on Wednesday evenings, and are designed to help you and your child prepare for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist in a fun and dynamic way!

Here are a few of the key elements of our Sacrament Preparation Program:

Registration

If your child is in grade 2 or older, registration for your child’s sacrament preparation for Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist can be done in two ways:

Through the Catholic Schools:

Registration forms will be sent out through the schools in early September.

At the Parish Office:

You are welcome to come into the Parish Office to fill out the registration form.

You must be a registered parishioner of St. John the Baptist Parish in order for your child to take part in sacrament preparation. Parish Registration forms are available in the Main Entrance of the Church, at the Parish Office.

Confirmation/First Eucharist registration forms go out through our Catholic schools in September. If your child attends a public school, registration forms are available in the Main Entrance of the Church. Please complete one and bring it along with the $50.00 registration fee and a copy of your child’s baptism certificate to the Parish Office.

"The Eucharist is such a great gift. That's why going to Mass is so important. Going to Mass not just to pray, but to receive Communion, the Bread and Body of Christ. It saves us, forgives us and it makes us one with the Father.

How beautiful!”

Pope Francis
