Sixth Sunday of Easter 17 May 2020
Psalm:
“Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name; give to Him glorious praise. Say to God, how awesome are your deeds; all the earth worships you”. (Psalm 66)
Gospel: John: 14:15-21
The amazing love of God is depicted in today’s gospel that Jesus promising to us through apostles that He will send another Advocate to be with us forever. The next two weekends are particularly important in our lives that the Church will celebrate The Ascension and The Pentecost. Jesus setting a floor for us to prepare that we will enjoy our ascension and of the world from darkness to Light and be filled with Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Let us Pray:
Almighty ever-living God, who restore us to eternal life in the Resurrection of Christ, increase in us and the world the fruits of Your Resurrection and pour into our lives the strength of this saving Grace. May our prayers rise up to you, O Lord, together with the praise offerings, so that, purified by your graciousness, we may be conformed to the mysteries of your mighty love. Let your Word, Father, be a lamp for our feet and a light to our path, so that we may understand what you wish to teach us and follow the path your light marks out for us. Amen.
Bow your heads for God’s Blessing:
Your power is awesome, God our Father, and wonderful is your holiness. In your presence the earth both trembles and stands still, for you shattered death’s power by the cross. Rise to help your people: give your light and grant salvation to the meek of the earth, that we may praise your name forever. Amen.
Canticle: Hosea 6:1-6
“Come, let us return to the Lord, for it is he who has rent, but he will heal us; he has struck us, but he will bind our wounds. Let us know, let us strive to know the Lord; as certain as the dawn is his coming, and his judgment shines forth like the light of day! Dispel the terrors of death and the darkness of error. Lead your people along safe paths, that they may rest securely in you and live forever”.

Good Shepherd Sunday - May 3, 2020
Psalm:
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want (Psalm 23)
Prayer:
Almighty and ever-living God, Watch over your people as the treasure of your heart and guide their steps along safe paths that they may see your face. In the death and resurrection of your own Son you brought us through the waters of baptism to the shores of new life. By those waters and the fire of the Holy Spirit you have given each of us consolation and renewed hope. Accept our prayers of praise; may our lives be a total offering to you, and may we deserve to enter your house and there with Christ praise your unfailing power. Risen Lord, give us new strength from the courage of Christ our shepherd, and lead us to the ever green pastures that we may enjoy your creation’s abundance.
Bow your heads for God’s Blessing:
Look upon your flock, kind shepherd, and be pleased to settle the world in your pasturing care. Lord Jesus Christ, Shepherd of your world, you give us new birth in the waters of baptism; anoint us with saving oil and call us to salvation at your table. Dispel the terrors of death and the darkness of error, the fear and anxiety, the uncertainty of sickness and confusion. Lead your people along safe paths, that all may rest securely in you and live forever. Amen.
